The Design Files is an amazing blog featuring gorgeous Australian homes and creatives. The home is a 1930’s “Tudor Revival” owned by an architect and electrician !
There is a serious design boom going on in Australia and I can’t get enough of it. It’s very refreshing and I’m sure I’ll be sharing more.
In my opinion, the home has many diverse design elements in terms of how the couple styled it. You’ll find cool contemporary pieces mixed in with preserved historic elements, contrasted with a calm Scandi inspired bedroom and then a desert/ arts and crafts dining area.
Love it. Check it out !
^ The deep teal blue accent sofa paired with the preserved wood and fresh white strikes a great balance of color and style.
^ I love this super neutral dining room that uses texture and some accents of color to bring interest. And those dining chairs are amazing…
^ At first I was like “Whoaaa super departure from what we were seeing before.” But then I figured its a great idea to make the bedroom seem almost like an escape for rest and relaxation. And those cool colors are doing it for me. *ready for a nap*
^ Who knew wood paneling could still look good ? It works so well mixed with the tile floor and greenery. And the clean white office with great statement pieces (large art, gorgeous chair, Nelson lamps) is screaming timeless taste.
I have stamped my approval. x
